About the trip
Guruvayoor, in Thrissur district, is home to the Sri Krishna Temple, one of the most important pilgrim centres in Kerala and a popular place for weddings and a child's first rice feeding. Nearby Punnathur Kotta houses the temple's elephants. From Trivandrum the route runs the length of the coast via Kollam, Alleppey and Cochin, so most families stay overnight.
