About the trip
Jodhpur, the Blue City, is dominated by Mehrangarh Fort rising above a sea of indigo houses at the edge of the Thar desert. Visitors come for the fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, old stepwells and busy markets around the clock tower. From Jaipur the road goes west through Ajmer, so many travellers stop at the Dargah or at Pushkar on the way.
