About the trip
Agra is the Mughal city of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, and the drive from Jaipur is part of the Golden Triangle route. Most travellers break the journey at the Chand Baori stepwell in Abhaneri or at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's abandoned red sandstone capital. The road runs east through Dausa and Bharatpur on a good highway, so it is an easy one-way transfer.

Follow NH 21 via Dausa and Bharatpur. Leave Jaipur by 7 am to allow stops at Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri; remember the Taj is closed on Fridays.
