About the trip
Tirunelveli is an old temple town on the Tamirabarani, the only perennial river in the south of Tamil Nadu. It is known for the huge Nellaiappar temple and its sweet, glossy halwa. People travel from Madurai for family, colleges, courts and hospitals, or head on to Papanasam, Manimuthar or the Nava Tirupati temples. The four-lane highway makes it a quick run.
