About the trip
Kanyakumari is the southern tip of mainland India, where three seas meet and the sun both rises and sets over the water. Visitors take the ferry to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar statue, and pray at the Kumari Amman temple. From Madurai it is a fast drive south on NH 44 past Tirunelveli, with windmill fields around Aralvaimozhi.
