Terms & Booking Conditions

These terms cover enquiries and bookings made with Bakkiya Tours & Travels through this website. Please read them before confirming a trip.

Enquiries are not bookings

Sending a trip brief through this website, WhatsApp or email starts a conversation — it does not reserve anything. A booking exists only once we have confirmed it to you in writing and received the agreed deposit.

Prices shown on this site

• Prices are indicative starting prices, quoted per person on twin sharing unless stated otherwise, and vary with season, dates, group size, hotel category and availability.
• Prices in currencies other than the Indian rupee are converted at approximate rates as a guide only. Your invoice is issued in Indian rupees or US dollars, and the amount your bank charges may differ.
• Prices may be shown differently depending on the country you are browsing from. Your confirmed price is the one in your written quotation.
• Luxury train fares are set by the rail operators (IRCTC and the state tourism corporations), not by us, and change with their published tariffs.

Payments

A deposit confirms your booking; the balance is due before travel by the date stated in your quotation. Payment methods, deposit amounts and due dates are set out in each quotation. Bank charges and currency conversion costs are the traveller's responsibility.

Changes and cancellations

Cancellation terms depend on the suppliers involved and are stated in your quotation before you pay. Hotels, airlines, luxury trains and hospitals each apply their own conditions, and some are non-refundable from the moment they are confirmed. Where we hold money that a supplier will refund, we pass it on once received.

Passports, visas and health

Travellers are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visas and any required vaccinations or medical clearance. We advise and assist — including with medical visas — but we cannot be held responsible for refused entry or refused boarding. Please check requirements with the relevant embassy well before you travel.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical treatment, cancellation and baggage for every traveller. It is not included in our prices unless your quotation says so.

Our responsibility

We arrange services provided by independent suppliers and we select them with care. We are not liable for delays, closures, weather, strikes, acts of government or other events beyond our reasonable control. Where a supplier fails to deliver, we will act on your behalf to obtain a remedy.

Medical travel

We arrange logistics: appointments, transfers, accommodation, visa paperwork and recovery stays. We do not provide medical advice, we do not diagnose, and we do not guarantee any clinical outcome. All treatment decisions rest between you and the treating hospital or doctor.

Vehicle hire and chauffeurs

Vehicles are provided with a driver. Women chauffeurs, child seats, dashcams and relief drivers on overnight journeys are available on request and subject to availability — please ask when booking rather than on the day. Drivers work to legal duty-hour limits.

Complaints and governing law

Tell us about a problem while you are travelling so we can try to fix it, and in writing within 28 days of returning. These terms are governed by Indian law, and the courts of Tamil Nadu, India have jurisdiction.
