About the trip
Erode is a textile and turmeric trading town on the Kaveri, and its handloom markets draw buyers from across the state. Pilgrims come for the Sangameswarar Temple at Bhavani, where the Bhavani river joins the Kaveri, and the hill temple of Chennimalai. The road from Trichy follows the river via Karur and Kodumudi, with its riverside Magudeswarar Temple.
