About the trip
Kotagiri is one of the oldest and quietest hill towns in the Nilgiris, with a mild climate and wide tea estates. People make this trip for peaceful walks, less crowded viewpoints and a slower pace than Ooty. The road climbs past Doddabetta junction and runs along ridge-top tea gardens, giving open views for most of the drive.
