About the centre
The programmes here draw on four strands of yoga, namely kriya, the path of energy; gnana, of knowledge; karma, of action; and bhakti, of devotion. The campus also has the Isha Home School and a rejuvenation centre. Volunteers run much of the site and are generally helpful to anyone visiting for the first time. Aarti and other ceremonies follow a set daily schedule.
Timings and entry
The centre is open every day from 6 am to 8 pm. Linga Bhairavi opens from 6:20 am to 1:20 pm and again from 4:20 pm to 8:20 pm. Entry is free, though some programmes need registration and fees. Photos are allowed around Adiyogi, but not in several areas inside the campus.
Best time to visit
The centre can be visited all year. Maha Shivaratri, usually in February or March, is the largest event, with an all-night programme of music and meditation at Adiyogi that draws very large crowds.
How to reach
The drive from Coimbatore city takes roughly an hour, and Coimbatore International Airport is about 45 km away. Coimbatore Junction is well connected to Chennai, Bengaluru and Kerala. A car or taxi is the most convenient option, and the road passes through pleasant countryside at the foot of the hills.
