About the trip
Mandarmani is a long, flat beach village on the Bay of Bengal, calmer and less crowded than Digha. Families and friends from Kolkata go for weekend stays at beach resorts, fresh seafood and the wide sands at low tide. The drive follows NH 16 towards Kolaghat and then via Contai. A same-day return is possible, but it leaves only a few hours by the sea.
