About the trip
Marari Beach, near Mararikulam north of Alleppey, is a calm, uncrowded beach lined with coconut palms and small fishing villages. People come to swim, walk the long sands, watch the fishing boats come in and stay in low-key beach resorts. The drive runs south on NH 66 through Aroor and Cherthala, so it pairs easily with a short backwater ride.
