About the trip
Mathura is revered as the birthplace of Lord Krishna and sits on the banks of the Yamuna, a short run north of Agra. Pilgrims come for the Janmabhoomi temple and the ghats, and many add nearby Vrindavan for its many Krishna temples. The drive on the Yamuna Expressway or NH 19 is short and easy, so a relaxed same-day return is simple to plan.
