About the trip
Ayodhya, on the banks of the Saryu, is revered as the birthplace of Lord Ram. Since the opening of the Ram Mandir, pilgrims from across India pair it with Varanasi on the same trip. Besides the main temple there are old shrines, ghats and evening aarti. The road goes through Jaunpur and Sultanpur on a mostly good highway.
