About the trip
Kanchipuram is one of the seven holy cities of India and an old Pallava capital, filled with grand temples from several dynasties. Visitors come for the Kailasanathar, Ekambareswarar and Varadharaja Perumal temples, and to shop for Kanchipuram silk sarees straight from weaving families. The drive runs west on NH 48 past Sriperumbudur, and a return the same day is easy.
