About the trip
Shravanabelagola is one of the holiest Jain sites in India, crowned by the 57-foot monolithic statue of Gommateshwara Bahubali on Vindhyagiri hill. Pilgrims and history lovers climb about 600 rock-cut steps barefoot to reach it, with wide views over the tank and countryside. The drive follows NH 75 towards Hassan and turns off at Channarayapatna, and pairs well with Belur and Halebidu.
